Team-based Consulting Projects

The Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum (FCCP) is an experiential learning course offered by the Fuqua School of Business, in which teams of approximately five students work through a collaborative consulting engagement to address a strategic or operational challenge for your organization. These consulting projects are hands-on, student-led, faculty-supported, and designed to bring a fresh perspective and actionable insights to help solve organizational challenges identified by you. Organizations with at least three years of revenue history and 20+ employees (or VC-backed start-ups), who have a dedicated project sponsor invested in the educational experience, are best suited to FCCP.

We offer the FCCP course through three of our degree-conferring programs, which differ in terms of student experience, start/completion times, and administrative fee.* You can apply directly to one of these programs using the links below:

  • Master of Management Studies (MMS) students team up with a second-year Daytime MBA “engagement manager” and work on a defined, tactical project for your company. Learn about some exciting updates to the program here, which now include six weeks to work exclusively with your MBA engagement managers to set up the project (November 1 – December 12) before a large team of MMS students executes the work over six weeks in Spring 1 (January 18 – March 1). Administrative fee: $0. Submit your interest here by September 8.
  • Daytime MBA students apply their MBA education and prior work experience to tackle a business challenge facing your organization, starting project work in January and concluding in April. Administrative fee: $1,000 to $10,000 depending on the organization’s size and structure. Apply here by September 15.

  • Executive MBA students draw on deep experience and insight to help solve a complex strategic problem for your business. They begin project work in February and deliver final recommendations in June. Administrative fee: $1,000 to $10,000 depending on the organization’s size and structure. Apply here by November 20.

*The administrative fee for an MBA team is $10,000 per student team. For non-profit organizations and small businesses (less than $10 million in annual revenue) the administrative fee is $1,000. This administrative fee helps cover a portion of the operational cost of the program. FCCP considers partial grant requests and you can indicate this in the application. The approval process considers the size and mission of your organization, as well as the financial need relative to your business unit or operating budget.
