Happy Birthday!

We asked the alumni below, celebrating a birthday today, May 23, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...

 

Greggory Bordes MBA '12
I finally made my way back down to the Triangle area six years ago from New York. I now operate Front Porch Venture Partners with two Fuqua classmates: Nikin Shah MBA '12 and Joe Mancini MBA '12. We fund exciting startups in NC and across the broader Southeast. Our families are fully settled in the area, and we are raising NC kids (who are all obviously besties!). Here is a photo of us hiking in the Atacama desert in Chile a few months ago.

Shehram Jamal MBA '16
I am located in the Bay Area, and I'm currently working at NVIDIA as the senior director of product management in Gen AI (AI application software). :)

Amelia Liu MBA '18
We moved to Dallas, TX, two years ago. My husband, Eric, and I were both part of the class of 2023, but he was in the PhD program at Fuqua. I'm currently working in the finance team at Microsoft. In my spare time, I'm trying to become a self-taught interior designer.

Alison McCandless MBA '84
I live in Durham, NC. Since 2005 I have had a small business called A Knitted ART (@knittedart) that grew from a hobby to its own tax ID. I create heirloom-quality hand-knit hats for babies and luxury beanies for women. I exhibit at local art shows in NC, and currently am based out of a local farmers market. I love being a mom, hiking in the NC mountains, cheering on Duke basketball with old friends, and spreading joy where I can. Life is good!

Tiffany Owens MBA '11
Since completing the full-time program at Fuqua in 2011, I spent eleven years as a management consultant at Deloitte. I have recently transitioned into academia, and I'm currently beginning the dissertation phase of my management PhD program in Houston, Texas. On the home front, I'm blessed with my husband, Marcus, and three incredible kids, all under the age of seven. Life is wonderfully full!

Nathan Pryce MBA '23
Currently, I live in the Washington DC metro area - which has been an interesting balance since I am part of a consulting team based in Dallas! Last year, I had a short-notice opportunity to run a 5k, 10k, and half marathon obstacle course within six weeks as part of the Spartan Race series. It's one of the most challenging things I have ever done, and I am so proud to have pulled it off! I'm excited to catch up with our Fuqua family this summer!

Elizabeth Scott MBA '10
I live in Boulder, CO, with my husband, Bryan, and two children, Olivia (six) and Henry (four). We spend winters skiing and summers camping and adventuring in our RV (affectionately called WheeliePig). I still work in biotech; my last company, Reata, was acquired recently by Biogen.

Chris Sheehan MBA '17
Alexandra and I are back in our home state of North Carolina and loving it! We were both Daytime c/o 2017 and bonded during basketball season as UNC alums rooting for the Tar Heels. We are blessed to have a little boy, Owen, and our dog, Trooper. I currently work in private equity, and Alexandra is at Boston Consulting Group.

I am currently leading business transformations at a top four U.S. Bank. I became a professional bodybuilder in 2022 and started my sixth masters program in 2023.

I am living in Dallas, TX, with my husband, Zach, and we are expecting our first child in July. This is us last September at our wedding in Tuscany.
