Happy Birthday!
We asked the alumni below celebrating a birthday today, September 19, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...
Boyd Christian MBA ‘10
I’m currently the Managing Director and Market Leader for Strive Consulting in Atlanta, GA. We provide consulting services to innovative technology and growth oriented companies across the country. Fuqua has prepared me well to wear many hats and drive the business where people are our product!
Leon De Bruijn MBA ‘16
Just moved to Houston, TX to assume the position of President of Lummus Technology. Excited to drive innovation in a highly successful refining and petrochemical technology company, re-energize world-renowned technologists, and grow earnings sustainably.
Mary Jane Glover Dodds MBA ‘80
I am enjoying life with my semi-retired husband in the San Francisco Bay Area and have myself been retired from paid work for several years. I put my MBA skills to use for the myriad civic and charitable organizations with which I am involved. I am engaged managing the family farm, pursuing hobbies, traveling and keeping up with friends.
Nathan Haslick MBA ‘10
I am living in the northern Atlanta area with my wife and two boys, aged 5 and 8. I work for a smaller, private hotel ownership and management company called Atrium Hospitality, which is headquartered in Alpharetta. I try to follow Duke sports as much as I can!
Zack Kaplan MBA ‘14
I'm living in Minneapolis with my wife Marissa. I've been here for the last five years working at UnitedHealth Group where I'm currently Senior Director of New Product Development.
Julian Kim MBA ‘87
I'm now in Korea, near Seoul, working as 1) the CFO of Kainos Medicine, a biotech company developing potential cures for brain diseases, 2) partner and CFO of Mirakle51, a consulting company helping local high-tech SME's expand to foreign markets and 3) managing director of Roboprint, a robotics company specializing in machines that paint artwork onto large wall surfaces.
Pablo Kohan MBA ‘09
I'm in heaven!!! Not really, but my guess is that it's not so different than living in Mallorca, Spain, where I decided to move about 6 months ago. When I'm not at the beach, I'm working on putting together some Real Estate deals or taking care of my farm. Let me know if you ever come around.
Alex Kuss MBA ‘10

We’re restoring an old property in Tuscany and I’m learning Italian and helping coordinate that, which is so much fun. I’ve also rediscovered my love of knitting and am know creating my own designs. It’s funny how life works out!
Thomas Reid MMCi ‘11
After a 5+ year run at Sunquest Information Systems, I recently accepted an opportunity on the Global Life Sciences team at Accenture. Also, my wife and I welcomed our first baby boy into our family on June 26, and we love the adorable little guy more than anything in the world. New job and new baby—life doesn't get more exciting than that!
Ben Robbins MBA ‘12
I'm currently living in Raleigh with my wife and lovely one-year-old daughter. I enjoy what the triangle has to offer and regularly make a point for the family to partake in everything from day hikes at the Umstead to afternoons seeing art and culture in Durham. I work as a Principal Product Manager at Citrix, where I employ much of what I learned at Fuqua, but especially find the leadership training and development from Sim Sitkin helpful.
Rachel Yarbrough MBA ‘08
Living in downtown Seattle and working at Amazon launching technology that leverages artificial intelligence. In addition to my day job, I teach the Amazon business writing class, serve as an Amazon hiring Bar Raiser, and volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters. My office is next to the Amazon Spheres—I would love to hear from fellow Fuquans when you are in the neighborhood.
