Happy Birthday!
We asked the alumni below, celebrating a birthday today, November 18, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...
Nadia Berrio MBA ‘11
I am currently in Mexico City with my husband, Sebastian, and our kids, Camila (7) and Joaquin (4). I have been with WestRock since graduating from Fuqua and moved from Richmond, VA, to Mexico in 2019 for a temporary assignment. We love exploring the city, traveling around the country, and going to concerts. We would go to concerts almost every week before the pandemic and we are looking forward to doing that again! We have enjoyed hosting many friends since we arrived and we expect to be here for at least one more year, so reach out if you come to visit!
Bill Grey ’83, MHA ‘85
I have lived in Georgetown, TX, for the past 3 years with my wife, Jerrine, and we are about to celebrate our 30th anniversary. This has been my 8th location in Texas, so I pretty much have covered the state for housing. I worked for HCA Healthcare for the past 10 years and am now an Assistant Vice President for Post-Acute Services, working on developing and operating physical rehab units within their hospitals. Jerrine and I have 2 kids, Marshall (28) and Morgan (23), and both are also living in other locations in Texas. I’ve remained active with Duke by interviewing undergraduate candidates through the Alumni Admissions Advisory Council for about 35 years now, and it really keeps me connected. Hope all is well with everyone reading this, and go Duke!
Darshan Khatavkar MBA ‘03
I live with my wife, Vinita, in the mountains of Western NC in Asheville. Along with my career in sales and my wife teaching yoga, we enjoy the outdoors, food, and art, which this area offers in abundance. Our son is a Navy officer based in FL. At this milestone birthday, I am looking forward with gratitude at where I am, of which Duke has been a significant part.
David Liu MBA ‘15
I moved to Shenzhen, China, last year after spending five years in Beijing post-Fuqua. In 2021, I co-founded an e-commerce startup with a Fuqua graduate and became an entrepreneur. Best wishes to alumni across the globe.
David Mann MBA ‘96
Greetings from a suburb of Boston. After graduating Fuqua, I worked in Manhattan, followed by Providence, before making my way back to Boston, where I grew up and much of my extended family still reside. I’m the CFO of a tech company and married with a couple teenagers (a son and daughter). I’m currently nursing a torn meniscus from playing sports—a little hint from my body that I could be getting older? I keep in touch with a few folks—but think about many of you—and the great times!!
Chandra Ramadurai MBA ‘03
After a few years travelling around the world for work post-graduation (various parts of the U.S., Germany, India, U.K.), we moved to Toronto, Canada, five years ago to finally settle down. I am currently the CEO of Efficiency Capital, which is a green investment organization focused on energy efficiency in the built environment. This has enabled me to reconnect with a few of my classmates, also in the industry.
Kyle Sheckler MBA ‘21
I live in Milwaukee, WI, with my wife, Maggie, whom I married in May. We are enjoying Milwaukee, but once winter comes, I am sure we will be missing Durham! I am currently an Investment Banking Associate at Baird on their Tech & Services team.
Heeyoung Yoon MBA ‘05
I live in a suburb north of Chicago and am married to a fellow Fuquan, Joseba Celaya (Daytime 2005), with two young children. We moved to Chicago after graduation and now call it our second home as we have spent almost 16 years here. I work at Astellas Pharma Global Commercial Insights team, uncovering key insights and informing strategic decisions for our flagship brand, Xtandi. The Covid pandemic brought our family and close friends even closer and made us appreciate the importance. We're very thankful that our family and friends remain healthy and safe.
