What's in a name?

With the ability to prompt feelings or thoughts, a name can be synonmous with many things. In Ram Mattapalli's case, one word in particular comes to mind: generosity.

In recognition of support from Ram Mattapalli MBA '09 and Zolon Ventures, an interview room in the Fuqua School of Business admissions department was named. Decorated in bright poppies and overlooking Fuqua's Science Drive entrance, the space is a bright room where prospective students and admissions staff gather for interviews. As a member of Fuqua's Rex D. Adams Society, which recognizes individuals who have provided cumulative gifts to Fuqua totaling $50,000 or more, Ram has and continues to graciously support Fuqua on many levels. What do you do professionally?

I am serial entrepreneur and investor. I am currently CEO of Zolon Tech Inc. Zolon Tech is a fast-growing global IT solutions provider with multiple offices in the USA and India. We have an employee base of over 500 personnel and our annual revenue is over $70 million. We are the pioneers of the Global Recruitment Outsourcing Model and Software-as-a-Service Model to cater to the IT needs of our clients, both commercial and government. Our major clients include Fortune 500 companies as well as Federal government. I approve the strategic and financial decisions that support organizational strategy. The company has been able to grow at an excellent, breath-taking pace due to my three-pronged strategy of consistent investment in people, process, and technology.

Why do you support Fuqua?

I support the school so it can continue to provide the best research and innovative programs in areas like ICOs, Blockchain, and FinTech.

What have you enjoyed most about your time or what have you gained from your involvement with Fuqua?

I truly enjoyed the learning experience at Fuqua. One of the eye-opening experiences was learning about BATNA in negotiations. Another great learning experience was from my peer group about expanding my horizons. Fuqua greatly helped me with my network and pushed me take new risks. Thanks to Fuqua, I became a venture investor while managing my business.

What does Team Fuqua mean to you?

Team Fuqua is not just about teamwork and collaboration; it‘s about living by core principles: Engagement, Ambition, Diversity, Community and Integrity.
