I am happily retired and living in Chattanooga, Tennessee, after a 36-year career in healthcare administration on both the hospital and physician practice management sides. Although retirement got off to a rocky start with a pandemic, I am enjoying family time, improving my golf game, traveling, exercising, tasting fine wine and bourbon, Labrador Retrievers, and experiencing all that life has to offer. Attached is a picture of Sharon and me from a trip to Prague, Czech Republic, during the Christmas holiday season.

I got bored during Covid and found myself taking a free class that led into a PhD program in Business Management at Ole Miss - they gave me a full ride with an assistantship, which was fun for a while, but after I wrapped up the last of the all-consuming coursework in May, I decided to pass on comps and dissertation and go back to being retired (sort of ; ) and playing with our two cute granddaughters in New Orleans (see pics, and note - Elise's daughters are both older than Elise was when I started at Fuqua. How can we have kids that old?!).
Overall, Don and I are enjoying Oxford, MS - lots of nice people our age and always lots going on.

After a couple of interim stops, Anne & I have landed in Wilmington as our “forever home” (that is to say “final”, we hope). We are loving the easy access to the beach, the wide variety of frequently occurring cultural events and the generally laid back feeling of this small-ish, artsy town. With one son living in Apex (suburban Raleigh), it is easy to get together.
We “retired” so long ago (2011) that’s not news anymore. We’ve mostly just traveled the world, volunteered with various community organizations and studied a lot of Spanish (our COVID escape). Living the dream!
If anyone else has moved to the retirement Mecca of SE NC, we’d love to get together.

Hi Fuqua - After 20+ years in NYC and American Express, I now live in Westchester, NY, with my husband, Rob, and two teenage children, and am taking a break from work. I’m enjoying spending more time with family and friends and constantly walking our pandemic puppy. I’m still close to many of my Fuqua classmates, in fact, last fall we took a trip to the NC beaches. In the pic from left to right: Sylvia Choe (Hollo), me, Minna Pomeroy (Greenspun) and Paula Kelley.

Hanno Blankenstein said he’s coming to reunion, but gave no additional details – I guess we’ll need to show up to find out what’s going on in his life!
Shawna and Keith Dodds met their long term goal to retire early, writing: We threw in the towel earlier this year, sold our house in Chicago and moved to TX. We look forward to being nomads for the next decade and hope to see many of you on the road!
Mark Haddad just started a new job heading up revenue operations at Connectbase, a growth-stage B2B SaaS company building a marketplace for the connectivity industry. On the homefront, wife Kristen is working as a social worker at a middle school; oldest son Brendan is going to graduate in the spring from Trinity College, and just received a full-time offer from his last summer internship at Aon; younger son Jason is a sophomore at RPI becoming a mechanical engineer; and daughter Lindsey is about to graduate from high school. The family just returned from a trip to Disney World!

I am still in Seoul, Korea, running an AI-driven genomics company, MedySapiens. Recently in the late last month, I went on to Washington DC and Boston on an economic mission with Korean President Mr. Yoon Seok-yeol in response to Mr. Biden's invitation to the White House. The photo shows me with Hugh Kang, my younger boy in the Duke Blue "Class of 2025" t-shirt in his East Campus dormitory room. So proud of him!
Laura McLeod writes: Hope the last 24 years have been good to everyone! Richard and I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska from Atlanta so he could leave big law firm life and become a law professor. We raised our two boys here (Luke & Henry) and they’re both off at college (I am a big fan of empty nest life!). I teach marketing to undergrads at Nebraska and at CIMBA (Paderno del Grappa TV) and definitely enjoy the college professor schedule. Cheers to the next 25 years!
Jeff Otchis moved to AT&T Cybersecurity in 2021 and is enjoying the heck out of the new Austin FC soccer team (picture included at a recent match with Jen Milch), as well as his new pandemic hobby of golf. If anyone is in town and interested in joining him for either, reach out and he'll try to make it happen. Nina is now at Workday, his older son is a sophomore at the University of Texas (and a member of the Longhorn Band), his younger son is a sophomore in high school and he's feeling older by the day. He's also a new member of the Fuqua Alumni Council where he's doing his best to represent the interests and experience of the Daytime Class of '99 while helping with our upcoming 25th(!) reunion in April. Similarly, if you're interested in more on this, drop him a note.
Julie Paddison is in her third year of owning the popular wine bar and retail store, RTP Uncorked at Boxyard in RTP, NC. As of October 2023, she is the Director of Cat Rescue Operations with Beautiful Together Animal Sanctuary, building on 83 acres of farmland in Chapel Hill. In July 2023 she and a crazy crew of friends participated in the 50th year Ragbrai ride, 500 miles of cycling and camping across the state of Iowa in 7 days. Iowa is NOT even close to flat and the heat index was 90+ each day. In September 2023 she completed her third Ironman 144.6 in Chattanooga. She has enjoyed keeping up with family and friends and looks forward to reuniting with our Fuqua family.

After moving here in 2012, we still live in beautiful New Jersey. We just came back from our summer vacation in Europe, which turned out to be quite different than planned—three of us tested COVID positive. Luckily, we had no or very minor symptoms. We made the best of it, though, and after recovering, we had a great time visiting Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Amsterdam, and the Documenta (a massive and very controversial art exhibit) in Kassel/Germany. Now, we’re back home and looking forward to a beautiful late summer with lots of golf and soccer. All the best to the Fuqua CCMBA Class of 2004!

Hi, fellow Fuquans! I now live in Houston with my husband, my 4-year-old daughter, and my 9-month-old daughter. Life got pretty crazy during the pandemic with the loss of my father to cancer and taking time off from my career to raise kiddos. I have to thank so many Fuquans who’ve continuously supported me since my dad got sick during my first year at Fuqua. Things have calmed down now, and I’m excited to say that I’m following a passion of mine and starting my own floral design and delivery business, Blooming Garden Flowers (@thatbloominggarden on Instagram), here in Houston. Wish me luck!

Hello Fuqua! Since graduation, I took the leap and left my company of fifteen years to join a top consulting firm, where we are building software to enable government social safety net programs. I’ve had many life changes too. I recently moved to a new house in a new city (still in Virginia though!), and I am now married. Here’s a photo from Lake Dukan on my trip to Kurdistan to meet my husband’s family. We had an amazing adventure traveling all over Kurdistan and honeymooning in Istanbul and Venice. We now reside in and were married in Napa, California in April, 2022. The attached photos are of us at our wedding (Emily Carsch ’19 and Rafael Gimenes ’19) and of all the Fuqua friends we had in attendance to celebrate with us (all class of 2019).
Thank you for bringing us together, Fuqua!

I'm living in Austin, Texas, with my wife, Pamela, and our kids, Lucy and Jaime. After three years in Seattle, we finally relocated to Texas to be closer to our extended family in Mexico. Where are you now? We’ve moved twice since graduating from Fuqua - we’re now living in the Washington, D.C. area. I’m an Army officer and work as an assistant product manager, managing two separate Army acquisitions/product development teams that conduct R&D and prototyping in support of the U.S. DoD and the intelligence community. Our family is loving life in the area and enjoying all that it has to offer!

Allison and I are still loving Northwest Arkansas and Walmart, where we both get to work alongside Fuqua grads every day – including many of our friends from the Class of 2019 (Bonnie Kong, Matt Martinez, Sarah Arnio…not pictured but also with us from our class are Eric and Emily Souza, Say Ghosh, and Kirill Bogoslovskii) and beyond. We’ll be extra loud for everyone when the Blue Devils play at the University of Arkansas later this month!

Hello from Boston! My wife, Jenny, and I enjoy going on pup-ventures with our puppy Tatum (yes, named after the Duke basketball player!). Currently, I work on behavioral health strategy for UnitedHealth Group.

After graduating from Duke, I joined Dell Technologies (where a ton of Fuqua alumni are!), and I currently work on the procurement analytics and strategy team. Thanks to the remote working policy, you will find me working in Europe, Asia, or now, by the beach while practicing my newly picked-up hobby, surfing!

After graduating, I moved to San Francisco to pursue my dream of working in the gaming industry! Besides work, I spend most of my free time traveling, being outdoors, or in discord.

Since graduating, I've moved out to Fort Collins, Colorado, and started as a Global Talent Management Partner for operating companies in the Water Quality segment of Veralto- a public company which spun off from Danaher at the start of Q4 2023. It's a unique opportunity to be part of a company that's brand new yet already part of the S&P 500, and I'm excited to see what's to come. That said, the most important post-MBA job I've had was serving as the maid of honor in my sister Annie's wedding in mid-October.

Since I just graduated from the MBA program last May, I spent the summer traveling around, and even did a road trip from North Carolina all the way down to Queretaro, my hometown in Mexico. I'm very excited that I just started a new job on August 15th as managing consultant at Horváth and Partners.

Hi Team Fuqua! Hope everyone's doing well. My family and I (pictured here minus cat Buster, who said no thank you to posing) are still happily in Charlotte, North Carolina. We're looking forward to fall trips to see family this year.
Class of 2023
Daytime MBA
